Hi. I thought I’d tell you a little about myself.
I am in my mid-40s, and finally decided I need to get in shape and not only lose years of accumulated fat around my body – especially my “beer belly”, but I also wanted to change my lifestyle towards better health.
I live in the Denver, CO area, and am married with 2 children. As my children are still fairly young, and I have a demanding job as a senior leader at a high tech company, I’ve found it impossible to have any kind of regular exercise routine. I routinely work 10-12 hour days, we eat out a lot as a family, and weekends are full of errands and kids activities as well as basic home maintenance.
I started researching diets around November, 2011 to try and find something that I thought was credible, science based, and most importantly – I could follow and adapt to my lifestyle and get results. With a BS and MS in engineering, I’m fairly technical and need to understand the science behind something before I will try it.
I’m not a “group” kind of guy, so I didn’t want to join a program that has group therapy sessions, or one that had prepared frozen meals that you had to purchase on an ongoing basis. I also after starting my research didn’t want a strict calorie counting program – because:
- I don’t believe that focusing solely on calories is the right approach
- I didn’t want every meal or snack to be some exercise with a calculator
I also wanted an approach that I could transition over to from a lifestyle perspective – i.e. nothing so radical that I’d have to completely turn my life upside down. Finally, the program needed to make sense to me from a biology perspective, and had to have a good track record for general health as well as weight loss, and have a certified professional standing behind it.
I found what I was looking for in the Diet Solution Program. However – it isn’t easy, as there are tons of web sites out there promoting the program with phrases like “The diet solution scam”, or of course bogus “diet solution reviews”. I waded through more crap web sites than I can count and finally got to the real “meat” of the program on a couple of reviewers sites as well as Isabel’s site. I took the plunge and dropped $47 for the full program, and have never looked back.
After 2 months on the program I found myself thinking differently about cooking, eating out, and basically had a mindset shift after adopting the principles of the program. The online support is awesome, the material is easy to use and apply every day – and most importantly – I GOT RESULTS. I’m two months in and have lost about 1-2in off of my waistline – without losing any muscle mass. The belt notch I’ve had for more than 10 years is history – I’m now down almost 2 belt notches, and my pants literally are starting to feel baggy.
I decided to become an affiliate for the program, as I firmly believe in it not just for weight loss, but for general health and to help prevent future problems like diabetes, heart disease, and other “modern” diseases. Also, there were such CRAP web sites out there from people looking to make a quick buck off the program that I also felt a need to share my experiences, perspectives, and ongoing results with the program so people like you could have access to credible information. As an affiliate I receive a small commission if you actually access Isabel’s main site from a link on my site, and purchase the program. There is no effect on pricing to you as a customer, and it helps offset my costs of researching and documenting ongoing experiences and learnings – which hopefully are saving you a ton of time!
As I get my weight and “fat” under control, I am now researching more and more nutrition topics, as well as exercise programs that would work with my lifestyle. I will keep you posted on what I discover, what I find valuable or not so valuable, and hopefully I can save you some time and inspire you to make changes in your life!
